Hilarious Cruise Review

The NCL Dream recently had some misfortune when it hit a barge in Montevideo. This guy's review of the cruise is fantastic!
Review It's a long review, but well worth the time!

I especially liked the following lines

Quote:
...So there we sat. A free open bar, lights ablaze, and the band playing on while we noted that our ship now held the record for the most Japanese tonnage sunk since 1945...

...We awake again in Montevideo. Is it possible that I have become Bill Murray in Ground Hog Day – doomed to perpetually awake in Montevideo only to be told that we will be leaving by 4:00?

I have now been in Montevideo so long that I am considering applying for citizenship. I know now that we will never be able to leave and that the sooner SailorJill and I start our new life together the better...

...I know that the crew is desperately trying to fire up the engine as I see a small wisp of smoke come out of the stacks. First it is only three small dots of smoke…then three longer dashes following by three smaller ones. But still no power to the engines...

...But the trip has been stressful. Some people were upset that the Falkland Islands had been deleted from the schedule. ( I have to admit, I was looking forward to the Falklands – having signed up for a glass bottom boat ride so I could see the Argentinean Navy.) ...

Very good!!! Between that and jtm1631's 2006 spring break cruise TR HERE (a must read) - I am reminded yet again of the many reasons that I will never, not ever, contemplate a big ship cruise.

Those sentences just made me spew:

When my turn came, I walked by the judges and “Rick, from the Cruise Directors Staff” started yelling into his microphone “Shake your Booty, SHAKE YOUR BOOTY”. To this day I have no idea what Booty is, but apparently it is not your middle finger.

Oh Sandy and I love cruising! But, after a few times, you learn what not to do and where not to hang out on the ship. We've had 2 cruises that were not up to par, but are never "unhappy" on a cruise. You're on vacation! People are trying to spoil you! There are no morons from work emailing and calling to tell you how stupid they are!

I did find JT's comment about the deck being windy somewhat comical...I mean the ship is moving at almost 25-30 knots...you're in the open...who'd of thunk there would be wind!? Sort of like complaining about your hair being mussed while you drive a convertible!

I guess no matter where I am I try to make the best of it. You really have to WORK at pissing me off on vacation!

Oooohhh....I really like cruising, ESPECIALLY with kids...kinda like traveling in an RV....everything you need is really really close!
However, I also think that you need to do a LOT of research and read reviews about every cruise ship and port of call......my favorite cruise? Hands down the 7 night Disney Cruise!!! Absolutely Spectacular!!!

We did the Disney Cruise as our first cruise. 4 days in the parks and 4 days on the ship. Their private island was great! But, unlesss they have changed, there was not much for parents in the evenings on the ship. Still, we experienced some of the best service on that ship. Goofy tried to hit on Sandy. I asked him what he had to offer in trade...he gestured to the ship and we almost struck a deal!

Since then, we have sailed on Royal Caribbean, and on Norwegian to Hawaii, and on 7 different Carnival cruises. We sail Carnival Glory on Feb 2. My review will unfortunately not be as eloquent as this guy's though!
