This TRULY does not bode well for peace and stability in Pakistan and really, in the entire region.

From Pakistan to Lebanon, it is immensely frustrating to see moderates in the middle east walking around with giant targets on their back.

Bhenazir Bhutto was one of the great hopes of moderate rule in the middle east.

Did y'all know that she was the FIRST female elected leader of a Muslim nation?

Did you know that she graduated Harvard University, phi beta kappa?

Did you know that she dedicated her life to the service of Pakistan, and ran for the position of prime minister twice, DESPITE the fact that her father was executed by hanging on trumped up charges (for political reasons) after serving in the same post?



She was a shining light in the middle east. A beacon of hope for moderation in rule, human rights and equality for women.

They just said on ABC morning news that she was in the hospital undergoing surgery and wasnt killed in the attack. Hopefully that information is actually correct.

I'm watching video of her getting into a vehicle on CNN that was supposedly shot a few hours ago.

I do hope she is alive, however!

Let's hope moderate Islam remembers her cause and words. From a recent meeting with the Afghan president:

“We too believe that it is essential for both of our countries, and indeed the larger Muslim world, to work to protect the interest of Islamic civilization by eliminating extremism and terrorism,” she said after their meeting.
