NYE in the hospital 2 an update
Doctor just left and Jessie will be here through Jan 2 at least. They have pulled her off all food and liquids (except for ice chips) and have added a PIC line with which to give her nutrition and meds. She had a problem with her veins collasping with the IV's as one of the nausea meds she is on burns them out. They are doing an small intestine test tomarrow and another gastric empting test on Monday or Tuesday. The doctor is hoping that by letting her stomach "rest" for 3 days she might be able to reintroduce soft foods. Keep up your prayers and good thoughts peeps. If this doesn't work, we already have an offer to fly her to any specialist in the country courtesy of Jeff's new employer. I must say that for Jeff just starting Nov 1, they have been the most supporting group of people! I'll keep you updated as things progress.

So sorry to hear this.
And a PIC- gosh, I always hated laying them on patients, and I would never want to have one..........poor thing. I hope she will be better soon!!! Positive thoughts and hugs to you and her!! |

Sure hoping your daughter gets better soon. That PICC line is sure easier to deal with than infiltrated IV sites all the time or having to be poked constantly. I hope they get some solid answers for all of you and in the meantime we are sending thoughts and prayers from CT.
