I don't think it was our background/heritage type of nationality at any rate...

is that any better?

AHA!! Gotcha now!!

I guess if I lived in Mexico (or any other country), I'd still say I was an American....

First of all, you left off "TEXAN". Texans are a breed of their own.
You also left off Sicily, which IS a part of Italy but also very different from Italians.
Me..half Sicilian, 1/4 Italian, 1/4 of something I won't admit too, and 100% Texan.

You won't find many Americans that are 100% of any ancestry! I'm a mixture of 3 nationalities... Norwegian, English and Irish.

I was born in 1955, in the US, and my parents were American born, and my grandparents were born here also...now we go back into the 1800's with the geneology stuff.....great grandparents may have been born in Germany/England/Norway......
I am an American. My dad had an uncle that did some family tree research.....poor guy died before his hunt was over, and who cares what it said? Someday, somebody might look up our family tree, and find a howler monkey looking down and saying.......hoooo hooooo hoooooo
