Who Is Richard Mellon Scaife? - April 27, 1998

Richard Mellon Scaife - SourceWatch

Washingtonpost.com: Scaife: Funding Father of the Right

And by the way, do you want to tell the audience about the fact that Judicial Watch achieves its political ends almost exclusively via the use of civil lawsuits filed against Democrats and those others with which its "money people" do not agree? Do you want to tell the viewing audience that the vast majority of litigation brought by Judicial Watch is ultimately unsuccessful or simply dismissed?

Or is it too hard to use the very same fingers you have used to type your diatribes about lawsuit abuse, frivolous lawsuits, etc. to let the folks know about Judicial Watch, the money, their means, their methods, and their propensity for clogging our courtrooms?

But I guess its okay to file a lawsuit for political reasons against a political opponent, especially someone like the Clintons. Its only those lawsuits filed on behalf of bereaved parents and grieving widows that constitute "lawsuit abuse."
I know who he is, I know who he is! Beyond being the major "conservative, non-partisan" contributor to Judicial Watch,.....(from Wiki).......

In 2002, Judicial Watch received $1.1 million from the Carthage Foundation and a further $400,000 from the Sarah Scaife Foundation. The year before the Scaife Foundation had given $1.35 million and Carthage $500,000.

In all, between 1997 and 2002, Judicial Watch received $7,069,500 (unadjusted for inflation) in 19 grants from a handful of foundations including. The bulk of this funding came from just three foundations - the Sarah Scaife Foundation, The Carthage Foundation and the John M. Olin Foundation, Inc. [2]

I hear here that....

A former Scaife employee, Pat Minarcin, said, "He has the emotional maturity of a very angry 12-year-old, and he has all this money and he can do whatever he wants with it."

kirby, this really MUST be the "This REALLY made me laugh" thread!!

Kirbyfan,

You have exceeded even the notional bounds I had for you. Should I say thanks for the belly laugh, or sorry for that your sources of information are totally ridiculous IMHO and that i am embarassed for you ?

Either way I am finding it hard to type through the tears of laughter running down my face... Happy new year !

Any list that does not contain Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, Alberto Gonzalez, and Lewis Libby is woefully inadequate.

How do I even respond to a post like this. If you want to discuss issues then thats great Jez but your rude personal attack on me is WAY out of line....it was totally mean spirited and completely unlike the man I met 2 years ago on the Fat Cat cruise.

Ya wow, how friggen crazy am I to post something that might have a conservative aspect to it....I mean, its not like you and Stew would EVER post a link to something with a liberal slant to it.

How hypocritical of both of you.

If you would like to discuss something that they said in the article specifically that you either agree with or disagree with then lets, but the petty personal attacks are really unnecessary.

even if the source is biased, I totally agree with number 1. I don't trust that Clinton woman.

Nice burn by Jez, BTW.

*sigh*

Thanks Ron

I am done with this. You guys ever wonder why people avoid the political threads? Look at your responses for the answer.

By the way Roni, thanks for the suggestion on the Cruzan Dark Rum! I bought some yesterday and enjoyed it last night.

"Here ruining people is considered sport." excerpt from Vince Foster's so called "suicide note" Fort Marcy Park, Virginia, 1993.

I'm worried that Clinton Woman plays this sport too well, not surprised she's No. 1.

I don't think Jez was "attacking" you, rather the source you chose to quote... and the choice was entirely yours.
