Any KBCO 97.3 Studio C fans out there?

I lived in Boulder 18 years ago.....(miss it bad) there is where I discovered one of THE best radio stations in the U.S. Since then I have collected ALMOST all of the Studio C cd's (just received Volume 19!). Any other fans/collectors out there???? A trivia quiz.....Who was the FIRST artist to play in Studio C and got the recordings off the ground? And do you know the story behind it????

I worked for Clear Channels but left the company shortly before they took this outlet over. I doubt it's still the same old station you remember, but I hope it is. Clear Channels has a way of messing with programming.

Probably not fair since I live so close to Boulder, but yes I have Vols. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10, 12, 15, and 16.
Thousands, yes, thousands of folks wait in line to try and get a copy of each year's new release!
And the first Studio C was with Melissa Etheridge in a hallway in the studio.
Personally, I think the station has gone a bit downhill since back in the day and don't listen to it as much as I used to. Can't really put my finger on it as to why, but perhaps it's because they seem to be a bit more folky than in the past.
Linda, do you listen to it online?

A friend of mine that lives in Denver is one of those that stands in line EVERY year to get me a CD, I get it as a Christmas present!
You win (sorry, nothing). It was in the summer and she had her guitar in the car, asked if they wouldn't mind if she brought it in the studio since it was so hot outside, played, and Studio C was born.
I am getting a bit disappointed in some of the artists on the latest cd's....who ARE these people????
I don't listen online, I really should......

Hard to convey auditory humor with the written word, but I'll still try...

A few years back KBCO was giving away trips to certain parts of the world. During one of the contests the destination prize was a trip to France. As you probably remember, KBCO announces the station by saying KBCO-Boulder. During the time of the contest, after a promo describing the trip to France they would announce the station as KBCO-Bowl Dare. Every time I heard it I laughed.
Interesting how I remember the oddest things, but can't remember things I "should" retain.

Linda,
Thanks for the station. Very good. I listen to WXRT 93.1 out of Chicago. Very similar.
Happy New Year
