What Bars Should We Go To?
MY HUSBAND AND I ARE GOING TO PLAYA ON SATURDAY JAN 5-JAN 12. WE LOVE TO PARTY AND HAVE A GREAT TIME. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS, HE CANNOT STAND THE BARS THAT HAVE A TON OF THE "TEENY BOPPERS" IN THEM. YOU KNOW, THE EARLY TWENTY SOMETHINGS THAT ARE TOO WILD AND CRAZY. HE LOVES TO LISTEN TO GREAT MUSIC, DRINK AND SMOKE HIS CUBANS BUT JUST NOT WHILE GETTING BUMPED INTO BY A BUNCH OF SCREAMING CRAZY TWENTY YEAR OLDS. HE IS 42 AND I AM 34. I HOPE I DIDN'T PAINT AN AWFUL PICTURE OF HIM, HE IS A LOT OF FUN!!!
CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT BARS TO AVOID AND MAYBE WHICH ONES TO GO TO?

As far as bars to avoid...probably most bars on 12th street and 1st avenue...they are fun..but not what you are looking for. |

Like the others said, we liked to hang out at Beer Bucket, La Ranita, Pinche Gringos, Bad Boyz, Siesta Fiesta, Bourbon Street, but also Yellow Submarine. I think you should find what you are looking for at any of these.

I've had a change of heart on Pez Vela. The last few times we've grabbed a swing at the bar, we had a great time. The bartenders are fun and the way the bar is situated it is a very social atmosphere now. The prices used to seem a little high but I think most of the bars on 5th Ave have caught up to their prices. Real good location on the corner as well.

You'll generally find the geriatric crowd assembled at the Tequila Barrel where they smoke cigars, while feasting on the energy of those passing by, and languishing in thoughts of the good ole days when they too had energy.
![]() Then there are always those bars out on the highway... Otherwise, here's a fairly comprehensive list of bars in town: Bar List - Click Here Good luck... Jimmy Last edited by JimmyMN; 12-31-2007 at 11:23 AM.. |
