Hello from the Windy City
So glad I found this site; so much great information!!! Looking forward to making my first trip to the Yucatan Jan 7-14...can't wait any longer for the warm weather(wind chill dipped below 0 degrees today).

Well thanks!!!!
Just got back from New Orleans..have a few pics on the "post your holiday travel Horror stories HERE thread."
I seem to attract drama/weirdos on my trips...never a dull moment.....
No plans for Playa in 2008, going to Florida for Spring Break, Las Vegas for a wedding, and suprise destination for Big Don's 50th birthday (cannot say where in case he reads this post, naughty boy).

I lived in Lincoln Square and Ravenswood for many years! My old stomping grounds, how I miss them (but how they have changed from when I first lived there).

If you want to find expatriate locals, check out La Ranita Bar or the Beer Bucket pretty much any night of the week, Calle 10 between 5th and 10th. You can also try Java Joe's coffee shop on Calle 10 between 5th and 10th in the mornings.

Also, many of us frequent the Pinche Gringo bar on Calle 26 and the corner of 1st avenue, especially on Friday nights when Chris Bolister is providing the live music.

Most of us like to talk about ourselves, so I'm sure you'll not have trouble getting us to open up.

I went to New Orleans in August -- HOT!!! My Avatar is from an Airboat Tour we took. That particular gator was 10 ft and named Teddy Bear by the tour guide!
