Visitors of Moon Palace or Iberostar Paraiso Lindo
I'm planning a trip for early May with a few friends (all married couples in mid 30's) and was trying to decide between these two resorts. Any input? We originally had planned on going back to the Tucan, but I'm second guessing that based on the posts on this site of the beach erosion. Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, RKB

Between the two you mentioned, the Lindo would be my choice. Not only is is more centrally located - the Moon Palace is the first resort after you exit the airport so it's a haul to get anywhere south such as Playa and even moreso, Tulum. But if you're looking for a nice beach, know that the beach at the Moon Palace isn't the best - darker blue water (as opposed to that beautiful turquoise in Playacar) and a lot of seaweed washes up there. Most people skip the beach and use the pools at the Moon. Just my opinion though!

17 of us stayed at the Lindo in Dec 06. Everyone enjoyed the Lindo with the exception of some lost luggage at checkout time (pay close attention to your bags). I would not hesitate to stay at the Lindo again, but for some reason when we booked for Feb I found the Maya price was cheaper. Didn't make any sense but because of the lower rate we went for the Maya.

Lindo
We stayed at the IB Lindo in February and it was gorgeous...both the resort and beach. It really is a photographer's dream it is so beautiful from the fountains, pools, themed restaurants, etc. The beach was long and wide. It is a family resort so there are a lot of kids due to the wave pool and teen disco.

Beach erosion where? Is there beach erosion at the Lindo now?
Been to both. If the beach is important, stay at the Lindo. The Moon Palace is excellent in all areas except for the beach. It's just in an area of not a great beach - lots of sand - just not pretty sand, or pretty water. Maybe there's erosion there now? Even if not, still the beach is not pretty. We still had a great time there - but if you're beach people and want to stay there all afternoon - you will be disappointed. Bar with swings at the Moon Palace - and golf course there - oh and bigger rooms with hot tubs. ![]() Our best meal out of both places was the the Lindo - Gourmet a la carte - to die for!!
