I saw that the other day... if I don't decide to book some type of transportation to the airport, I think that I'll take a trip out to the airport to see beforehand where I need to go. As icky as morning traffic in Austin is, I'd hate to not know where I was going!

it's real easy....... stay on 183 south and go past Hwy 71, thru the new light at Metropolis Drive (admire my new trees on the entry), thru the light at McKinney Falls Pkwy, and then left at the next light which is Burleson Rd (Exxon on the right), go 1 mile to the first light which is General Aviation Drive and take a left (Richard Moya park will be on the right)....... about 1 mile on the left will be the south terminal entry ......... if you look to the left when you turn on general aviation, you'll see more of my trees at the Army Aviation hangar, and then on the right will be more of my trees at the Temple Inland hangar

we live in south austin so getting to the airport doesn't take much time for us. However, if we were to take a cab to the airport, it would still cost us about $30 !!

those of us flying out on the same flight should arrange to go to the counter together so we can get as close to each other as possible on the plane. personally, i'll sit on Dave's lap if he lets me. I'd sit on Donna's but i'd break her.

since there are so many of us arriving at the same time, what about arrangements transportation from the cancun airport to PDC ? oh wait .. Trish said she'd hold my hand on the 'bus'.

This is if I'm coming from Austin proper, right? From I-35? I'll be coming from the new toll road 130. (That sure makes it so much easier to get to the airport from Round Rock!)

I think I saw a sign for the south terminal on 71 between the 130 off ramp and the main airport entry, but I'm not sure. You can take a left and head south on FM 973 and go down to Burleson (973 will be the light as soon as you hit 71 from the 130 off ramp) and then take a right on Burleson to get to General Aviation..... or just stay on 71 to the south 183 exit (you'll want to be in the center left lane once you pass the main airport entry)

Yeah, even with the toll road, I still count on 45 - 50 minutes to get to the airport. I'm planning to be there around 7:00. Have you seen the ominous threat on Viva Aerobus that they won't let you board if you don't check in at least 45 minutes before the flight? Yeah, Penny, I'll hold your hand... and Jerry's too!

Thanks, Scott! Doesn't sound too difficult. But still trying to make a decision - 10 days for airport parking? or just schedule the blue van? Haven't taken a pencil & paper to it yet, though.

Wow! you really did score! I did that last year on my trip to Playa. I left out of Dallas (about 3 1/2 hrs from where I live) and the flight was early in the morning. Everything was rocking along as planned

... until the shuttle was late, the motel lobby filled up with more people going to the airport than the shuttle could hold, another shuttle had to be called, and everyone's nerves got a little tightly strung! I just elbowed my way onto the shuttle - and made it to the flight on time! whew!

I did it last year the day before. NOT ever going to do it that late again. Turned out the wax was too hot and i got a little burn. Now i do it several days before vacation - did it today.
