Another HLI North Carolina Peep Meet in 2008?

In September of 2007, coming from multiple countries, 26 crazy, fun-loving peeps flew, drove or walked into the foothills of Western North Carolina for a big party....For some it lasted for a weekend..for others, over a week!

The first ever HLI North Carolina Peep Meet was tons of fun!

Shall we try to pull another one together? Whattaya think? Any interest?

Linda and I are thinking about the first weekend in September (9/5 and 9/6), but we can talk about other weekends that might generate sufficient interest.

I would like to be there.... I was thinking of going to Dallas in early September and from there to Las Vegas. Alternative to Vegas has always been a roadtrip to your Inn. Heck, I want BOTH!!!!

Just not sure yet whether I can go away in September.

You absolutely should! HLI is a great place to stay, and Greg is still sighing about the food and wine (and still putting all his new-found knowledge about wine's food-ability to good use).

Every gathering was full of conversation -- and hosts and guests both seemed to have a good time.

But can Scott and Terri take that much time off again, so soon?

We were just talking about that today. Working on free air miles for somewhere. We, of course, would NEVER think to commit to ANYTHING 9 months in advance... not in this house, baby! But we will definitely entertain the possibility.

I completely understand!

We know it is very early.....at this point we are just trying to gauge interest and to begin to zero in on possible dates if the interest is there.

Jacko, this is on my list of things to definitely do...The beginning of September traditionally is very busy for us, with a daughter to shuttle back to college, and school starting for our son. Also, we have vacation time issues. For now, keep us firmly in the "interested" category...we'll be keeping an eye on how things progress.

Hey, it's low season here. And hopefully by then I'll be making some cah-razy dough, so I wouldn't miss it for the world. Plus, my 38th birthday is in September, so I'll need some consoling. And copious copas de vino.

I vote Yes!! I actually tried to make the trip work last year! I love Ashville....what a beautiful area. We haven't been down that way since our son graduated boot camp in Columbia, SC. What a great road trip that was! I can't even remember why we couldn't make this happen last year....work, I suppose? My Joe retires in August....so we are in!

I would love to be at the 2nd Annual HLI Peep Meet, but early September is a tough one for us... Would anyone consider the last weekend in August?? which happens to be my birthday and Mike's weekend off

Another weekend that would work for us is September 20-21. I hate being high maintenance so you schedule what works for you and we will see if we can make it.

This is the kind of feedback I was looking for, fire

...as we play this out, we can balance people's general preferences with our room availablity...as an example, the last weekend in August is Labor Day weekend, right? That is very likely already near booked up for us....as I hear more dates, I can match it up with our current availablity...right now the the weekend of 9/5 and 9/6 is wide open at HLI. I will check on the other dates in September tomorrow.....
