. Made me wish I was 21 again . However I'm not, we are bringing grand kids, not real worried , just looking to be prepared, since tickets are bought and paid for , no going back ! Are we in the spring break time period ? Or are we a bit early ! Thanks PS , how long is the bus ride really from Cancun ?? Last edited by jemik : 01-08-2008 at 08:19 AM. |

Can't give you any resort info, but, in general, Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya is NOT a spring breaker destination. Yes, you'll find some, but not nearly as thick as in Cancun. I think any time from now til the end of April is spring break somewhere, so yes, you are in the thick of it. The ADO bus from the airport, if that is the one you're taking, should be between 45 min and one hour.

As Susie said, March is considered within the spring break time frame so you won't be avoiding it.
As far as the Barcelo goes - they do not "allow" spring breakers but they will definitely be there, there's no way to exclude them really. Parents bring their teens, the teens sometimes bring friends, you will have multiple families traveling together with teens - as long as there is one adult booked in the room, the hotel can not deny the reservation. Know that this happens at all resorts in the area, it's just very difficult to control it. What's worse is that many of the parents do not control their teens - and THAT is where the problem lies! |
