They are all part of the same resort but the Colonial/Tropical buildings are brand new, opened in Nov/Dec of last year. From what I understand, if you stay in the new section you have access to the whole resort, but if you stay in the origianal section, you are limited to certain areas of the new section and unable to enter other areas. You also get four a la carte meals inthe new section and only two in the original section (per week). The buffets in the new section are also air conditioned. We stayed in the original section in 2003 and are looking forward to staying in the new section in May!!
Just to make it clear, the "old" section is really not that old...and some people actually prefer the atmosphere to the new section........
I think you will love either section!!
