Oceano is a seafood shop couple blocks west of Av 30th on Calle 34. You can get the fish cooked if you like (it's deep fried) or take it fresh. For specialty & organic items and fruits/veg try DAC just north of Constituyentes on Av 30 - they don't actually have much different than the supermarkets but you can almost always get fresh butter and they have a lot of deli and imported items, plus bulk nuts and rice etc. Anyway if you're going to Oceano, it's another close by stop.

Today I've been organizing stuff for the trip. It is really going to happen! Can't wait. Really appreciate your info - will come in really handy. Do I take it that you're from Ontario? How is your winter going down there - we have heard about nasty storms in the East (we live in Interior BC). |
