Thoughts for tonight?? I didn't realy enjoy it..........they semed to be forcing thselves a little bit...............still LOVE Micheal................thought he may have trouble tonight, but he rocked!

My prediction to go?? Hopefully Kristy Lee but it may be Sayesha.......enjoyed her song but singing a Whitney song is pretty much a no win situation.

Gotta go pack now..............I keep putting it off!

Gotta agree...this was just a so-so night.
My favorites: Michael, Carley, David A, David C.
Bottom three: Syesha, Ramiele, Jason with Ramiele going home.
Really didn't care for any of the songs. I'm with mean Simon on this. Just "one of those weeks." Loved his line about losing his pass to Dollywood. Please no more country weeks!

Yeah, it wasn't a great week although I did enjoy David Cook and Michael Johns, but then I love blues. I don't think anyone did real bad. Ramiele probably almost being the exception. I'm not a Carley fan but if you listen to the voice she's got them all beat, not that I expect her to win in the end.

I had forgotten that Dolly wrote some really good songs "back in the day" - or maybe it's just that a lot of them reminded me of when I was younger ? And "I Will Always Love You"... I guess my favorite Dolly Parton song - kinda wish that Syesha had stayed away from finishing it off a-la-Whitney.

And Yay to David C for getting a hair cut!

I liked David A, David C and Michael Johns the best... please get rid of the ascot; that's all I've got to say about that

I liked Jason & Brooke better than the judges did, and I liked Carley

Ramiele can go... kinda boring and I could hardly hear her ... or Kristy, but I'm kinda worried she'll never leave .. and Sayesha sounded fine, but that's just one of those songs you shouldn't sing... whenever I hear it, I "hear" the drum beat, the rest and then THE note...

I remember the year Whitney sang it and it was nominated for a grammy... and Dolly sang it as a duet with Vince Gill on the country stations the same year and they won a CMA for duet and when they accepted the award Dolly said, "Man, I am just SICK of this song... aren't you sick of this song, Vince?" The surprised look on his face before he laughed was so funny...

I totally agree with you on every count. I still really like David A, just something about that voice. David C did well and has been very consistent. Michael Johns, I don't really care for him, but I think last night was his best performance (but I agree with the ascot )

I actually enjoyed last nights show, I thought they all did relatively well. I think it echoes back to what Paula said about the songs Dolly wrote, just being good songs.

Clearly the David's were good, and Michael I thought was great. After that.. a lot of middle of the pack with Ramielle and Jason in the bottom.. Ramielle is overdue to go home, and Jason's heart isn't in it.

I DVR'd the show and it cut out before Simon got to critique Michael's performance. I gather he said nothing about the ascot? You know Simon just doesn't like you when he starts getting on you about the clothes. I am sure Carley felt like reminding him that it is, as he likes to say, a singing competition. (Not that I disagreed with Simon...I think alot of them could use makeovers.) On Michael, the ascot made me think of Austin Powers. He could have worn it outside the shirt as a scarf tied around his neck and looked just fine. Oh well! Makes me glad that I don't have the spotlight on ME every week!

Simon said it was his best perfromance yet! He showed me something last night as well. Frankly, I thought he and David C outshined America's sweetheart by a lot last night. Sayesha would have been great if she kept it funky, but the last half of the song, you just ended up comparing to Whitney and well... you lose on that one. Brooke, Carly.. just ok. Kristy not bad.. Jason and Ramielle, should start folding clothes.

Same thing happened to us... I was dying to know what Simon had said.

Drewl... I love America's Sweetheart... he has an amazing voice, and considering he is only 17 makes it even more amazing.

Wasn't Michael's wife in the audience? Maybe the ascot is hiding a hickey he doesn't want her to see.

Everyone does, he seems like such a good kid, and he has a great voice. However, I think David C and Michael last night were much better performances, much! Maybe I took my Simon pill today.. but at this stage in the competition, I expect more.

I agree... he does have a very pure sounding voice, which I like... I think DavidC and Michael Johns would be more radio worthy... but when has that ever swayed the speed dial voting teeny boppers?
