I think David Archuleta has an awesome voice. He's cute, nice and all that but he's not much of an entertainer otherwise. IMO d

ooooh, excellent... I think I started the age old "is this a talent/entertainment contest, singing contest, or popularity contest debate." Probably about time to start that anyway.. Giddeeeup!
Jay, I think we all agree David A has a great voice!! He is super sweet, and we would all love to just take him home with us like a new puppy!! But is that enough to win this? I know Simon is always looking for someone that is radio worthy and marketable...

oh my

American Idol contestant David Cook was hospitalized after Tuesday night’s live show when he felt heart palpitations, a source confirms.
Cook was treated for high blood pressure and released back to the Idol apartments where he was “doing fine,” the source says.

Pretty scary...hope it's not the pressure of the competition that's doing it to him.

drewl, I agree with what you said about the contestants needing to really step it up at this point. After you crack the top 10, it's really about being a well-rounded performer who can consistently perform well live + sell lots of records. While DA has a tremendous voice and is adorable, that may not be enough to take him all the way in this competition.

David C has tremendous potential. He has a good voice (not the best in the top 10 though), but he always does something creative with a song. It makes me look forward to his performances, much more so than David A. He's come a long way as an entertainer since the beginning too. In the beginning, he exuded somewhat of a negative aura, more than rocker attitude. That could have hurt him with the voting public if he hadn't toned it down quite a bit. Now he stilll has an edge to him, but he doesn't have that air of entitlement to him. He's learned a lot.

I just heard that David C's brother has cancer, and this week took a turn for the worse. This may have contributed to the blood pressure thing, all the stress he is going through.

Aw, poor thing. It must be heart-wrenching to want to be there for someone you're close to, but have to choose between that and pursuing your lifelong dream. I hope his brother stabilizes so that David can continue with AI.

Just like I expected. It is always sad though.

What did you guys think of the little bluegrass rockabillies? I thought they were good but I definitely wouldn't buy their CD.

I really enjoyed Dolly's song.

yeah, I cry as well, but thought it was time for her to go. WOW, I really tried to like the bluegrass boys but it just didn't happen for me. I've always loved Dolly, this is not one of my faves. I did love her presense on stage, she's still got that quick wit and spunk Maybe the song was just a little too heavy on Jesus, for me. But I do

I figured that would be the case with lots of folks, but I'm a Christian and a minority around here I think, so I liked that part of the song. I can see where it understandably wouldn't click with everyone though.

You are definately right. Do not get me wrong, I was raised a Christian and still have those roots rooted, that is why the song touched me. I just didn't think it was the right venue. You just gotta love her, I think she even got to Simon tonight

LOL Sorry it must be the little devil in me but the venue was exactly why I enjoyed it. Lot's of folks got to hear about her faith. Lots and lots didn't like it I'm sure but maybe one or two who usually wouldn't did.

It gets hard this time of the competition, people aren't getting voted off because they are bad, just the others are better. Boy Ramielle is REALLY short. Wow!
I thought Dolly sounded terrible, (song was ok) like she couldn't hear herself.. the Clark Brothers were ok, I was hoping we could hear what Simon had to say about them!
Anyone else notice how awkward David A looked among the group when they were supporting Ramielle as she went bye bye?
