I agree with a lot of what's been said. There's so much talent this season that it's anybody's game at this.
Carly is perhaps the most talented. I personally am pulling for her but I don't think she has the widespread "likeability" factor. Simon's right about her being in danger after last night. Sorry, but David A just doesn't do it for me. He's got a lovely voice, but I am bored by him. Kristy Lee is my least favorite in the bunch, but she did okay last night. Syesha I can take or leave. I think she'll go soon. Michael and Brooke I am fairly neutral on. I get a kick out Jason's mellow persona and he kicked ass last night. I usually like David Cook but didn't last night. |

I'm worried for David Cook. I just don't get that "pompous" label. Would people rather have him sing that song sitting on a stool with his acoustic guitar? It's a rock song for Pete's sake!
He is so talented and he has really come a long way since the beginning, but he is a rocker at heart, and a rocker has never won AI. (And why I've never gone to a live AI show, or bought any AI CDs--'cept for Daughtry...the last real rocker.) Eventually, a bad song choice, or an off night has always gotten them. Even though I really enjoyed his performance, so many people have trashed it that it's quite possible that he'll go down this week. Which would make me very sad, but would not surprise me. |

For a while, I also thought Jason had screwed up the verses. Guess it was "THAT" guy. My wife and I really liked Jason's performance last night. My favorite performance of the season has been Jason's performance of Halelujah even though he messed up the ending, I still thought it was a great song.

Just what I was saying each time "And how much did you donate?!" Volunteering their time just doesn't quite cut it. That is if they DID volunteer. |

It might be narrow minded of me the think that way but it's hard for me to take some of these charity fund raisings hosted by celebrities seriously when I know that are raking in 10's of millions of dollars themselves. I'm not coming down on Bono either. I love him actually, and maybe he's done his part. I just wonder.

Yeah but lending your face and voice is also good publicty for them. Hey look what cause I'm standing up for....etc. Sure we can all do our part to help but a 10 million dollar signing bonus sure could buy a lot of mosquito nets..... Just sayin. :-)
