Some really terrific guys this time. Still too many contestants for me to keep them all straight. But the young boy who lives in his car (Isaiah?) is just the sweetest. I can't wait to see who makes it to the final 24 tonight.

Ugh.....the kid who lives in his car. Let me start by saying, yes, the kid is talented. BUT......it's about time he "man's up" a little and stops crying so darn much. LOL The guy I thought was really awesome was the kid from San Diego, short guy, dark hair, performed towards the end of the show. Great voice. But I'm still partial to Kristie Lee Cook. ;-)

I was waiting for a man to say that!

All us women are more apt to feel sorry for him. You know, our motherly instincts coming out. I think he was tired and a little overwelmed. I knew they would put him through anyway. Especially since Simon said "now that one I will remember" after his first performance.
But your right, I do hope he stops crying so people will take him seriously.

I'm pretty impressed with the contentants so far, we'll see how the do as the competition progresses.

I really liked the first girl with the blond hair that sang and played the piano. The one Simon likened to Carly Simon.

UGA...cut the kid some slack...he IS a baby. 16 is pretty young to be doing all that on your own. I give him a lot of credit and I don't mind that he cries a bit. I think he has a lot more going on that we're not seeing. Seems basically overwhelmed with life. I felt sorry for him when Simon called him out for being overconfident when he was really just the opposite.

And yes, this is the best pool of talent that I can remember on American Idol. I like that they are letting them play instruments this year. Although that's a hit or miss proposition, it's still an added dimension that I like. Keep the show fresh.

Poor little Car Guy...

I was glad the Oklahoma Tie Boy didn't make it, cuz I liked the other guy better... but wasn't that the worst "Yay, you made it" ever for that guy? Simon telling him if it had been HIS choice, the other guy would have been in...

And I'm still always surprised at how many people I see at this point and say, "Who is that? Who is THAT?"

Aw, Char, I like the little OK Tie Boy. Too bad for him.

And the kid who lives in his car... Talk about misguided. I felt really sorry and kinda scared for him. The parent in me is worried about him. Maybe he reminds me of my brother...'cept w/o the drugs.

My favorite of the guys is the Austrailian. OMG, he's a hottie! Otherwise I liked the girl who lost her voice.

BUT can someone tell me who was the last girl to stay tonight? Stupid DVR cut it off!!!

I don't think your DVR was the problem. The show ran a little long I think. The plus size model was picked.

Tie Boy was okay (and such a nice guy); I just liked the other guy better

even though I don't remember him much at all...

and where does Car Guy go now? were his parents watching, i wonder?

I just don't know about Car Boy. I don't think I'm overreacting when I thought he could potentially be suicidal. He had EVERYTHING riding on this and 0 support from anyone who loves him. Who do you turn to. He just seemed so vulnerable. It scares me to think about what he might have been running away from. Obviously he had no support for what he wanted to do that he though he had to run away and do it all on his own.

Hmmmmmm...or is it all a manufactured drama to make for a better story? Remember Johnny Fairplay?

Not to sound cold hearted but I wonder how much of it was Johnny Fairplayish too. He seems like a nice kid but I think he played it up a bit, but then again, the producers new this too and I'm sure they loved the story line. The kid from Utah, short dark headed guy, he can really sing. The black girl with the crazy hair........wow, she's gorgous. But I'm still a Kristy Lee Cook fan. :-)

I don't know...I think you're being tough on him. I had the same feeling about him maybe being suicidal. Hope we're wrong. Hope he finds a way to go home and mature and comeback next year.

I also love Michael Johns, from Australia. This is a fantastic looking crop of Idols. Really, so many cute boys and crazy beautiful girls. This is the first time in so many seasons that I am really into the show. Can't wait for next week.
