Don't get me wrong... I believe that DA has a masterful voice, especially for being so young. But "star" appeal? Maybe if you're 12. Judging by the audience it was about equal for the 2 Davids. Best of luck to both of them with their careers.

Dang it!!!! I really wanted Cook to do extra good tonight but Archie took the night as far as I'm concerned. I think he nailed the Elton John song and the same with the second. I didn't care much for Imagine. Cook IMO did awesome with The u2 song and just so so with the other two.
I'm bummed a little.....but don't fret. I'll be OK. ![]() |

I still say David Cook might be better off not winning... much as I like him better than David A... he might do better without the weird Idol machine messing with his recordings... I mean, look how much better Chris Daughtry did in 4th place, compared to (holy crap, remember this guy won!) Taylor Hicks in that season...

OK...........I watched the show late last night after my meeting. I didn't think Archie outsung Cook by the wide margin that the judges did................I honestly don't get Archie's appeal................even Andrew Lloyd Webber commented on his squinty eyes! Anyone lese notice the cometn that Cook made after his last song...........I wanted to push myself and do something I had never sung before..........unlike someone else.............may have backfired though...........

Not much to add here. I just remain befuddled by the all the love for Archie.
![]() ![]() I found it hard to watch last night. The judges' fawning comments made me want to gag. Seriously. The kid has a great voice, granted. But as far as charisma, star appeal or whatever, it's just not there. The only "idol" he is is a teenybopper idol, and I'm not even sure he'll hold up there. Plus, I really don't know that the fame and fortune are necessarily going to be a good thing for him. I've only really watched the last 3 seasons, and David Cook is my favorite finalist by far. And I think he'll do well commercially regardless. As SunKnee Marie said, he might even be better off without the meddling Idol apparatus behind him. |

My opinion, if this were strictly a singing competition, David A would win hands down. But it really isn't. We'll see what the "people" think. |

As for star appeal, you're right. I don't see D.A. making the big bucks after the initial teeny bopper fans fade. I've a feeling his daddy will "take care" of what he does earn. ![]() In the long run I think Cook will sell tons more CDs than the kid. |

I am cracking up, the soda almost came out of my nose!
Last summer in NYC, I took a picture of this guy on the subway b/c I remembered his audition on So You Think You Can Dance.. he was the guy who asked the judges what he should do with his fur coat while he auditioned: ![]() My husband was mortified that I took someone's photo on the basis of seeing them one time on a reality show! I heard that he also auditioned for American Idol and sang "Gloria." So I will be watching So You Think You Can Dance too! I would have to say that The Amazing Race is my favorite, hope one comes on this summer! |

Me too. I guess I can't complain, since I didn't vote, but if I have to watch David A's pouty faced, head shaking, really?? I was good?? thing tonight, I may lose my dinner. Yes, harsh I know, but the kid drives me batty. Yes, he has a smooth voice, but not a star in my book.
