Oh, to be in Playa right now

When you wake up in the morning, and the actual temperature outside is
-24 degrees, with a chill factor of say around -40 degrees, and.....the entire city of Hayward is without natural gas because of a problem with the valve that brings it into the city, the only place I wanted to be was on the beach in Playa!!!

We had no heat, about 1700 customers were in the same boat (including the store where I work). The temp in the house went down to 48 degrees pretty quick before we were able to get some space heaters going. Craig is on nights, so he was trying to sleep. When I got home from work, he was asleep on the recliner with both the cats snuggled on top of him.

They tell us that we may have heat by midnight tonight. So far, no frozen pipes here, but hey.....I don't have to cook!! Oh wait, we still have the microwave

Oh my God -- I can't imagine having the heat go out!! I'm freezing my tush off in Appleton, WI! I see by your counter you only have 41 days to go . .. hang in there!!!!

Our wind chill was only -10 or so so I feel like a baby.... but when I ran to pick up my son from preschool I had just gotten out of the shower and my hair FROZE. LOL.

I'd freeze to death. Totally. And the pipes would all burst. Scary!

It is freezing here too! I live in what is supposed to be the warmer part of the country too! Hope you get heat soon! How is your back btw?
