Oh, to be in Playa right now
When you wake up in the morning, and the actual temperature outside is
-24 degrees, with a chill factor of say around -40 degrees, and.....the entire city of Hayward is without natural gas because of a problem with the valve that brings it into the city, the only place I wanted to be was on the beach in Playa!!! We had no heat, about 1700 customers were in the same boat (including the store where I work). The temp in the house went down to 48 degrees pretty quick before we were able to get some space heaters going. Craig is on nights, so he was trying to sleep. When I got home from work, he was asleep on the recliner with both the cats snuggled on top of him. They tell us that we may have heat by midnight tonight. So far, no frozen pipes here, but hey.....I don't have to cook!! Oh wait, we still have the microwave
