That is the biggest crock of crap I have ever read!! We drive fast??? When we were in Montana this summer, we were doing 120 and everyone was passing us!! I've heard horror stories about driving in Europe too! I agree with Bumper, those Manitoba avalanches are terrifying!! Better move to a flatter terrain Bump! We have a small hill by our farm, we live in fear every winter that the snow will come down and bury us! ![]() I can't believe someone gets paid to put out these travel advisories, too funny!! I guess I better start getting rabbies shots to all the little critters running around our farm, wouldn't want a tourist to get bit by a rabid squirrel, that is forsure! I love this one, "Violent crimes such as murder, armed robbery and rape can occur throughout the country." – U.S. State Department Oh my god, we better all move south where none of these things happen!! This is the dumbest one of all, "Tornadoes can occur almost anywhere in Canada." – Foreign and Commonwealth Office, U.K. If my memory is correct, and I am sure Riss will correct me if I am wrong, the last tornado were we had fatalities was the one at Pine Lake, I believe around 4-5 years ago. Before that was the one in Edmonton way back in 1987. Now that better keep people away, very scary stuff!! Best go to Kansas instead, much safer there! "British Columbia ... is in an active earthquake zone." – Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Have we ever had a death from an earthquake here? Take the kiddies to Disneyland instead of Stanely Park, much safer!! ![]() Thanks for posting this, really gave me a much needed laugh for the day!! ![]() ![]() Last edited by farmgirl : 01-26-2008 at 11:49 AM. |

If you do leave your house, better bundle up, you might freeze to death in a freak storm!! I think we better all move to Playa, leave our country so that the terrorists, bad drivers, murders, rapists and rapid animals can take over! Hopefully they will all get caught in a avalanche or ice storm! ![]() |

Violent crime, rabies, dangerous drivers, murderers, freezing temperatures, avalanches, tornadoes, forest fires, inadequate law enforcement, terrorists, freak storms, rapists, etc. Pshaw! All minor inconveniences.
What you gotta' look out for is the mosquitoes. Them vampires (the Manitoba provincial bird) file flight plans and take folks home to be eaten later. Mind you, the -40 degree temperatures does slow them down a bit, and they can be effectively swatted with a snowshoe. |

That story is so hilarious I though it was on the Colbert Report or something.
"As if that weren't enough to dissuade tourists, the U.S. State Department warns of grand theft auto in Montreal, a lack of gun control in Toronto and a deadly stretch of highway we call the 401." Grand Theft Auto...damn Canadians are stealing our video games, and apparently they got dem guns now, too. Oh, yeah, and it's freakin' cold up there, eh. ![]() |
