Bush's final State of the Union
Well...tomorrow night is it. There are some people who hate this guy so much that I'm sure champagne will be uncorked. So let the bashing and kicking of this lame duck begin.....

I'm actually glad to see him going. It's time to heal. I still find it hard to fathom the deep hatred and loathing that some people have for him. I guess history will decide. It just depresses me that we have been so divided. I hope that changes.

I for one don't hate him, but certainly do not care for his Presidency and what he stood for all these very LONG years in office. I do understand though about the divide....it is sad. We might get some champagne though ![]() ![]() |

No hatred, no loathing...Anger and frustration for sure! My issues have more to do with his skill than his fundamental personality..I am pretty sure he is a very nice guy ![]() I believe one could have guessed at the results he might have achieved based on his approach and his past history..of course these problems were amplified by the circumstances of his presidency as it relates to 9/11 (Iraq, the Palestinian question, Bin Laden, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Guantanamo), global warming (energy policy), immigration, health care, the economy and Katrina....still, he had an opportunity for success in each of these areas (or at least improvement vs. making things worse) ..so far, IMO, his results have been much less than successful..indeed, he made many of these areas worse by decisions and policy mistakes he made along the way....Perhaps we needed a stronger leader for these times.... Lets hope we can move forward in a much better direction....I would NOT want to be president for these next 4 years with the mess we are currently in in each of these areas.... Its going to be one helluva tough job made worse by the actions (or inactions) of President Bush and his Administration! It is time to thank him for his service and move forward.....He, and his Administration, did the best they were capable of doing.......We are where we are......It is time to heal! He could start the Segway Batallion and introduce the first Pretzel combat rations. P.S: Please, mate, brush up on your quoting techniques!!! |
