Hola from North Texas
Just wanted to say hello and thank you to everyone on this forum. Planning a trip for June and have learned so much from this site I feel like I have been to Playa.
Cannot wait!!!!

Consider me represented!!!
Not sure where we are staying yet. Working out the details and hopefully reserving this weekend.
Several places on my mind are some of the condos.. Luna Encantada looks great with a great location but might actually do the AI (Grand Porto Real) as we like a big pool and the location. I will be venturing into town a lot though. Don't want to get stuck at the AI. Not an easy task finding where to stay but on the beach is a must!

I stayed with my family twice at Grand Porto Real and liked it very much. Nice rooms and I took lots of pics of the showers lol! I like how it's just right there in town..I think it would be hard to get 'stuck' at GPR. I have to say I don't like the beach there, unfortunaltely they've never had a great beach location but, a minutes walk up or down the beach will land you in nice a sandy spot...with a few watering holes to try too

Look through the hotels that are offered through this site. If you want on the beach you might look at Playa Maya. Even tho there are many that aren't on the beach it's a short walk and there are some really great hotel finds. If you like a nice pool you might consider La Tortuga.
Either way ENJOY!!!

and BTW...if your back in town at the end of June you might check this out...

It is disappointing to find the beach is not good there. I thought that end of the beach was nice but I plan on checking out the whole playa stretch..

Thanks for the info.
Seriously, it's just right in front of the hotel that it's not so good. I think they've tried everything to gain a beach there and it just isn't happening. Up or down the beach a few yards and it's all good again.

Hello fellow Texan! Welcome to the forum!

In about 15 hours I will be leaving for my very first trip to Playa! Like you, I cannot wait!!! Feels like I've been planning forever......
