Cancun Airport

I will be arriving at the Cancun Airport (I believe it is terminal 3) in a week, and will be meeting up with extended family who are arriving there an hour or so later. The airport website does not really show terminal 3, and I emailed the airport to find where we could meet. Here is their response:

"you must exit the terminal and right there, there is a Meeting
Point
rest where you can meet."

Does that mean the name of the restuarant is "Meeting Point"?
(yeah, and then we will go to the shop called "Buy Things Here"
afterwards). Does anyone know the actual name of the restaurant
they are referring to so I can tell the rest of the family?

There is a bar with a palapa roof just to the right of the exit of Terminal 3. I can't recall the name but you can not miss it. There's also the outdoor seating area of the Berry Hill restaurant/bar to the left of the exit. Can't miss that one either. Both places are fine for meeting up with someone.

Actually, there is a large open palapa to the left of the exit doors that kind of both is and isn't an extension of the Berryhill restaurant (sometimes a waitress comes up to see if anyone wants anything), but there is a large sign on it that says "MEETING POINT." Be sure you go to the "Get Pesos Here" machine, too.

I think the name of the bar is called Coconuts, isn't it?

Hope your family will be coming in on one of the airlines into Terminal 3 and not Terminal 2. For our April trip we have friends that arrive 20 minutes ahead of us. We were hoping for a quick easy meeting in the Terminal and head south. No such luck - we're in T3 & they will be in T2. So, you may want to double check your arrival Terminal...

Coconuts is the one straight ahead out the exit doors that's free-standing. Berryhill is the one to the left actually located IN the terminal building.

I'm not sure if you can directly access the area from outside the airport (left). If not, just walk left around the area and come in from that side.

When you walk directly out of Terminal-3, the bar, Coconuts will be on your right.

To your left will be the place labeled Meeting Point.

To your left will be the place labeled as Meeting Point. This is a non-secure area and once you go through the security gate to get there, you probably won't be able to get back to Coconuts.

Nope, Coconuts is not in a secure area, it's outside the airport terminal. You can park your car, walk right up and have a drink!

On the day of my departure, the gate between the two areas was guarded and I was restricted from crossing over to Coconuts. Thought that was a bit odd. Perhaps Felipe Calderon was traveling incognito and had the bar all to himself.

Hmmm, that IS odd. When I left in December, I was able to walk right over there. Oh well, whichever, I think the OP has some options for meeting his peeps!
Now can you please come over here and clean some of the gunk out of my sluggish computer?

Thanks for the details Jimmy. There was only a portable bar in the Coconuts spot in August, and the meeting place wasn't done either. So it looks like if we have to wait a bit for the ADO bus we will have a good place to do it.

Oh, and for those interested, there are bathrooms right behind Coconuts.....
