Do you recommend exchanging US dollars for pesos here in the states, or once you arrive in Mexico? Where do you receive the best exchange rate?
If the states is the best option, how much would you want to travel with for a six night stay in Playa? Also, is it a good idea to keep some US dollars as well? Thanks for any advice.

No need to get pesos in the USA before you go. Not the best exchange rate and there will be a fee. Just bring your ATM card and withdraw pesos from an ATM machine as you need it. You'll get the best exchange rate that way too.

There are many many threads on this topic if you do a search......in a nutshell consensus is......use the ATM machines in Playa which dispense pesos......that will be your best exchange rate. USD is widely accepted everywhere but it will be a standard exchange rate they use....use pesos where you can!
