We found a lava cake that is to die for at "Byblos". It's called a fondue cake and is served with coffee ice cream. Our entire dinner there was wonderful. The flown in fresh mussels are the best I have ever had. This is a wonderful, quiet, little place with great atmosphere.

Yes, white wine, garlic. They are served hotter than I thought possible but not at all over-cooked. I don't know how they can do that. The olive/anchovy/caper spread they give you first with the bread is very good too. We also had the salt encrusted sea bass which was very good. It was over-all just a wonderful meal. A little expensive but it was our last night there and we had the front area all to ourselves. We were ready for a quiet meal and it was perfect. Let me know if you enjoy it as much as we did. Have fun and ENJOY!

FYI, Sam's (or was it City Club? pretty sure it was Sam's) had a big box of serving size lava cakes in their freezer section last week. They looked yummy!

They also serve Lava Cake at the rest. Maria Marie's at the Royal Playa del Carmen. They warn you in the menu that it takes 15 min. to prepare. 15 Mins!!! heck that's nothing!!!! Well worth the wait.
