Need Resort help, please

Hi, we are new to this site but have heard many good things about it.
We are in our late 40's with no children and are researching our getaway for next winter. We have never been to Playa del Carmen before.
Is there a resort that will meet our needs? This is what is important to us:
Quieter, not a party type atmosphere.
Clean, oceanfront, nice beach.
Just a nice resort where we can sit in the sun for a week and not do a thing but read, rest and relax.
I appreciate your input, thanks!

Shammy and her bum leg will be here shortly to help you out

...but you have no interest of leaving the property?
...so there is no need to be close to Playa?

lemme think about that one

Oh, there are SO many AI resorts to choose from that fit the bill, really. I think the best thing to do would be to check out any tour operator's web site (Funjet, Apple, etc) and just start looking at their listings for Riviera Maya - to help narrow down the choices. There would be no way to answer your question without listing about 25 different hotels - which is just going to confuse the issue more!
