Beer Bucket April 7 at 7PM - Peep Meet!
Hey... I did it... decided JillyinMN had a good idea and posted a new thread for our peep meet @ the Beer Bucket... can't wait to go! So, JillyinMN, LndShrk, NormL and moi, cantwait, so far.... anyone else?

How about we wait until we get closer to firm things up time-wise. That way we can get a better concensus on what works for the most peeps. Also, peeps living in Playa and the area generally won't know when they'll be available until just prior to the meet. If for the time being we just plan on meeting at the BB with additional stops TBD we can be flexible and hopefully see the most peeps. Just my 2 cents. So, like cantwait said let's see who's on board.

Just saw this now. Thanks for posting cantwait! I'll definitely be there and I'm traveling with seven others. Some or all of them will be with me. I'll be the tall one with the Nerak beads!

I'm trying to NOT go bonkers with perparing for this trip... We're trying to get all of our "ducks in a row" with planning a few additionale trips (Coz & catamaran trip).
The BB on the 7th still sounds OK here. Agree to get closer to the dates to set all. |

I know some of you have already seem my other post in the "Spring Break..too early?" thread, but I thought I'd make sure I covered as many peeps as possible...
If you not too hung over from the BB on the 7th, we have a bunch of folks that are doing the Cata Maya on 8th. Come to think about it, even if you were hung over from the night before, you could just flop on the deck of the boat like a fish in the frying pan. Don't worry, we promise to keep you covered in sun tan lotion & we could get out the beer bong to keep you hydrated... Let me know if you're interested. |

Okay, I am really getting excited to be in Playa and meet some of the wonderful people from this site! Being a newbie I was wondering how this peep meet thing works. I know about the nerka beads, but if you don't have those how do you recognize each other, especially if this is your first trip? I have my picture as my avatar but most don't ~ just thought pictures might make it a little easier to identify fellow peeps. I also thought it would be great if we could get to know each other a little better before the Beer Bucket Meet! So I will go first and anyone else who wants to tell a little about them selves I think that would be great!
 My name is Kim, I am 37 and am from a small town in Oregon. I am an office manager and work really hard so that I can support myself and my 15 year old son and of course travel every year. I will be traveling with my sweetheart Ron, my son Dustin, my mom & dad and one of their friends and my best friend from high school and her husband - quite a herd! We are staying at the Grand Mayan Riviera Maya (Free condo from folk's timeshare) and will be renting a car. I plan on spending a lot of time in Playa Del Carmen and am super excited especially after reading the wealth of great info on this site. I am really looking forward to visiting places like the Beer Bucket and Bad Boyz (Thursday or Saturday), drinking many margies and soaking up some sun! I am also looking forward to meeting and making some great new friends and would love to hear from any and all of you who are going to make the peep meet! |

Well... I'm Tania, 34, single, from the lower mainland of BC (Vancouver area) first time to Mexico other than Tijuana when I was 13 (doesn't sound good...) on a family trip to Disneyland but that doesn't really count.... absolutely cannot wait to be there, wish I could stay longer, but that will have to wait for next year when I go solo! Going for my younger and only sister's wedding, will also be surrounded by family that will probably try to control me and my time. Meeting on the 7th will probably be difficult for me as it is our 2nd day there together, but tuff I am going... I have travelled before to the Dominican by myself so it is not a worry to me nor a problem to go meet some fun new friends at a really cool bar! My grandma is so hip and only 72, she'll probably come! LOL I am a Chef starting a new job a few days before we leave for Mexico! So, fun and exciting times! Staying at an overpriced AI that my sister chose, so we all didn't really have a choice... we are all quite bitter about this, but it's her wedding. I shall have fun regardless! Salut mi amigos!!!!!! WOOHOO! By the way, don't know why I can't seem to upload my pic below for my profile, but... that is me.. I won't be needing beads when I have a very distinguishable arm! |
