I am so excited and couldn't wait to change my signature line.

With TONS of help and patience from Shammy, we are going to the Barcelo July 23-30. I will be there for my birthday. My plan is that if I go away for my birthday, it won't count and I will still be 38 when we come back!

Lori! YOU DAWG!!!! Good for you girl! I wish we could see you again in Playa! But, we are moving, hopefully by Spring, so I don't think we are gonna make it down in July. Phhhhsstt.....38 you're a baby, and you don't look a day over 29! Seriously!

I've seen you post now and then and I always want to write you about meeting in New Hope, but my life has been consumed with spackling and painting, and more painting and packing and YUCK!

I hope we do get together soon....you are so much fun! Have a great time and Happy Birthday Girl (premature, I know)

There's something SOOO special about being able to finally start that countdown!!! Congrats!!!!

My b-day is 7/21 (the big 50 this year

). When is yours???? (You're a Leo, and I'm on the cusp of Leo from Cancer. My dad was a Leo, and he was a FANTASTIC person!! I bet you are too. Laid back, but deep. Slow to anger, but once you're there, watch out!! Am I right??)

Thank you to everyone's kind words. We are so excited to go. I have been reading some great things about the resort. I am looking forward to going to the cenote that's on the grounds of the resort but I also want to go to some of the other local cenotes. I will have to do a search to find some recommended ones.
BETH--Maybe once the spring comes, we can finally get together. Hope you are your daughter are well!

We're looking around the 17th-24th of July at the Colonial/Tropical. If you don't mind me asking, where did you book - online or a TA?
I live in NW New Jersey - not too far from Bucks County! - and grew up in the Poconos. Flying out of PHL isn't really a problem, as long as it's worth it in savings. I found the cheapest flight, non-stop, is on US Air out of PHL ($248 ++). Other airlines/airports were about $100 more per ticket.
Maybe we'll see you there! Our dates are pretty flexible for July and may end up there at the same time as you.

I spent my 50th birthday at the Barceló last April and I'm going to be there for my birthday again this year.

So going with the reasoning that birthdays while you are away on vacation don't count, I guess I'm still 49 and I will still be 49 when I return this year

I like this not aging stuff. Wish I would have started going away for my birthday earlier in life

Phil--my cousin is coming with us and she changed my idea to fit her.

She is turning 48 this year and she said that when you go on vacation with me, we will all come back 38 years old. Great idea for everybody. Except it sucks for my 10 and 13 year olds!!

When you get a chance could you please let me know about your Colosio trip? Is that the name of a town? Your pix are great and I would like to try an off the beaten path type of trip.
