Trips from Barcelo Maya
OK - thinking of booking a trip to Barcelo Maya in June - with our kids ages 9 and 14. Can you recommend any day trips. Better to book in advance or when you arrive?
Also, do you recommend booking the airport transportation through the travel agent (anybody have any experience with Cheapcarribean.com?) Thanks |

It depends on what you are looking for. We did just a half day trip last summer and we booked it through our Funjet rep at the hotel. It was an ATV/Speedboat tour, we had a blast! If you like speed, and usually teens do, then this is a fun tour. I was scared to death to drive the speedboat but I got into it and had a great time.
We also booked the private transfer ourselves, directly with Cancun Valet. Just google cancun valet, they have a website and usually get back to you very quickly. Good luck! |

There will be a ton of stuff to choose from when you get there. I am always concerned with booking in advance because of weather or health issues. If I have a bad head cold, I'm not going to want to go snorkeling. If it's going to be windy or rainy, I'm not going to want a beach excursion, etc. Many times the resort offers something during the day that we would like to stay for (BBQ on the Beach, mechanical bull, etc) so we will get to the resort, check on the scheduled activities for the week and then go and book whatever we want to do. We usually try and do at least two tours (in addition to going into Playa, that we like to do a few times!!) one in the beginning of the week and one a couple of days later. It has usually worked out great.
