I received an email from Secrets regarding the opening of this resort. The opening date is scheduled 08/2008. Does anyone have information on where this property is located and how on schedule they are? Also, does it appear likely Maroma will open in July as scheduled?

think I got the same email as you. The best I could tell what that it's in Puerto Morelos area, which is probably what you gathered as well. That's about 1/2 between Cancun and PDC.

I agree that it looks like a wonderful place to stay. I'm hoping to find out the location as to ascertain the beach quality. We are beach people so it is one of our top considerations.

I would be willing to bet that the water quality isn't going to be that great, given the general area it's in. I'm sure the beach will be nice, but bet the water is rocky or has some seaweed issues. Think the new Secrets Maroma will have great beach and water though.
