Scott walked into the bra store.

He said, "I'd like to buy a bra for my wife."

Clerk inquired, "Playtex?"

Scott replied, "I appreciate the offer, M'am, but I'm double parked."

BA-DUM-BUM!!

The "Locals for sale" sign made me remember a sign I saw in England:

"Diversion Ends".

I'm native Spanish speaker, so me first impression was that the sign said

"Fin de la diversión" (Fun Ends).

I love lost in translation signs!!!

One of my favs is not in another country, or another language. It's a store right here in New Jersey with a HUGE sign plastered across the front that says...
"GOING OUT FOR BUSINESS"

If she's smart, she'll mark you up and turn you around quick. You're quite the hot commodity. I didn't get in on the bidding early enough and it got way out of my league.

In Spanish, a place where you do buiness, set up a shop or have an office, is called local, pronounced loh-kahl. In plural it would be locales, in Spanish. Here they've taken the Spanish word, put an English plural ending on it and paired it with For Sale, which is obviously English, not knowing that locals in English has a totally different meaning. There you go. It's funny, believe me.
In other words a false cognit.
