Trip Report Lite

Ok folks,
I'm sorry to make this short but I'm one of those hunt and peck typists. If I had a secretary I'd have her type up some witty comments. etc. but since I don't, this is all ya get.

My brother and I visited Playa From 1/28 thru 2/4 and did of course enjoy ourselves. We arrived on a Monday, later than planned thanks to airline delays. We stayed at the Rui Palace Riviera Maya. The place was great. Nice room. Extra clean. Good food. Great service. If I were looking for something to complain about I might come up with something but that aint what I look for so all was good.

Tuesday we got a cab over to fifth, wandered around all day up and down the beach into the bars pretty much sipping beers and shots all day. We got back to the resort buzzed. The waiters and waitresses at RPRM must have gotten a kick out of two fairly lit gringos as they kept the Don Julio shots coming regularly.

We had planned on catching the ferry to Cozumel on Wednesday but were way too hung over. Enjoyed that day doing nothing but relaxing and getting well.

Thursday we did do what we had planned the day before. Went to Cozumel, rented a VW convertible and did the circle around half of the island. It was a good day and well worth the effort. Even had one of those 17.00 burgers at the Hard Rock Cafe.

Friday we took the ATV tour to Aktun Chen and to a small cenote. Very nice but dusty trip. I would recommend the tour. Had a blast.

Saturday was a tour to Chichen Itza on a bus with about 25 others. The staff on the bus and tour guides were awesome. The bus was roomy and comfortable. We visited the cenote Ik Kil after the ruins. Good time.

Sunday was pretty much just relaxing also. We did go into town but it was election day and we couldn't get a drink. I did get a chance to try a burger at Fusion. I'd give it an 8 or so.

Monday............12 hour trip home.....delayed flights....snow....long ass day.

I MISS PLAYA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll post some photos. I didn't take a bunch but I'll share some of them.

Thanks for all the help from you folks here at Playa Info before the trip. Love ya'll and will definitely be going back. Too many things I wanted to do that didn't get done.

Sounds like you guys had a great time! I think the beach at RPRM looks pretty good.... better than what's been reported lately.

I like the picture at Ik Kil. How far is that from Playa?

Yeah, the beach was in decent shape. I think there was plenty there. I did notice the beaches got worse as we walked south.

Ik Kil is pretty far from Playa. Actually it is very close to Chichen Itza. There is what looked like a pretty nice hotel at Ik Kil.
