Hey all from Portland!

I'm just saying hi to everyone here because you all have been so great in helping me pick my location for my honeymoon! I have never been to PDC, but in doing some research for where I wanted to spend my honeymoon, this town came up early and often!

I wanted to find a good, fun-loving town without a huge spring break atmosphere, and it sounds like this is definitely going to be the place!

A bit of background on yours truly.....

I'm a 27 year old state government employee from Portland, Oregon. On May 9, I'm getting married to a gorgeous latina who has been to Mexico only 1 time more than I have.

On May 11th, we'll be flying out to PDC and staying at the Royal PDC. We picked that place for the food (I'm a big guy, 6'6", 350, and need plenty of it!) and the gorgeous looking beaches. I plan to not spend all my time there. I picked that location also because of its proximity to the city itself, which I plan to explore quite a bit. I also picked it because of some of the glowing reviews I read on this forum! We'll be in town for a full week.

If any of you have any specific romantic locations/restaurants, I'd be much abliged!

If you have any great drinkin' spots to clue me in on, I'd be even more abliged!

Welcome to the board. You'll love the Royal but be spoiled for other resorts. It's my favorite (my husband prefers the Excellence Riviera Cancun). The Royal has some great restaurants, and the food is pretty good. The 24-hour cafe is great for an after dinner drink and to people watch (from the balcony overlooking the street).
