It's sugar white, and if you didn't know it was sand you could mistake it for snow.
Oooh, the beach sounds so nice, I can't wait! I'm glad we won't be there during Spring Break, that should all be ending now.

Now this is an area I am familiar with. I lived here for 4 years and now only live two hours away and go VERY frequently.

There are has a range of options and it really depends on what you are looking for. If you like Cancun - go to Destin/Sandestin - I personally do not like this area, other than the outlet mall - wayyyy too many tourists - it will take you a half an hour to drive tow miles.

. If you like a slower more relaxed pace, Greyton Beach or Panama City BEACH (do not confuse this with Panama City).

If you like hoity toity places - Seaside, Rosemary Beach, Watercolor (all VERY expensive in the summer months).

One great place to go is Carillon Beach (This is between Rosemary Beach and Panama City Beach)- it is similar to Rosemary Beach type deal, but a little cheaper. We have rented a five bedroom, four bath house with a private pool one block off the beach for $4200 for the week of July 4.

Places to eat - The Red Bar in Greyton Beach - amazing breakfast and lunch - they only take cash, Angelinas -best Italian you will ever eat anywhere also in Greyton Beach

If you want any more info - send me a PM. I go here all the time.

carroll have you been to Blue Orleans yet in Santa Rosa? Very good music on the weekends and they have an awesome breakfast too. I agree with the Red Bar suggestion, cool place.

No, haven't been there. I have heard of it. My husband just loves the Red Bar - you really can't get any better than that. Maybe we will try it this year. I thought this was in Sandestin though???

No, coming from the Red Bar it will be on your right in a little shopping center, just before you get to Goat Feathers. We stay right there at Goat Feathers. Here's a pic from our last visit in December, had the whole beach to ourselves....

December is a great time to go, but February is even better. I love it when the tourists are gone.... Thanks for the directions. We may try it. Have you ever eaten at Angelina's? That is our favorite eating spot there.

Off topic: I noticed that you are from near Atlanta. I am taking hubby there for his birthday as a surprise weekend getaway. We are staying at the Intercontinental. I am desperately searching for a good restaurant in that area. If you know of one - would love the advice. There are just so many that I can't figure out which ones are good and which ones are just okay...

Thanks. I have heard of this place. We are going to a show at the Fabulous Fox that starts at 8:00. Would we have enought time to eat and get to the theater if we went at 6:00? Or should we make it a little earlier. I know I can make reservations, but I have often had to wait at places that I had a reservation at.....
