Ancient Britons were known to have painted their bodies blue.

Tradition claims Woad was used, but in reality it's been proved unsuitable. Pasted on ground blue/green glass and tatoos were more likely.

Here's a picture I took at Tulum showing a bit of original Maya blue. This is from above the door of the Watch Tower Temple:



Pretty amazing that the colour is still there after hundreds of years. Sure beats today's house paints
