i think this has been brought up before..but i think it would be nice to have atrip report section....only for trip reports...makes it easier to find them when you are checking back to read more...........

I enjoy the pictures the most also.

I'd like to see more pics of in town. Also would be helpful if folks could put their hotel name in the title for those looking for info on particular place.

I like that idea and putting the hotel/resort in the title.

i like reports that are done conscily....and love pis...what i dont like is when they drag on...i guess you could say i like them short and decriptive.imop

I love when peeps post pictures of themselves at various locations. It gives me a visual of what you guys might be like and what you enjoy doing when in PDC.

And if your wife or GF is in a bikini ... that is an even better visual!

Oh, yeah ... I like to see picturs of places I have not been yet.

Strangely, my wife likes food pictures. She has taken to photographing our meals at various stages of consumtion. Thankfully, she only does this in Mexico and not the local Friday's.

Descriptive writing - Enough detail to make it seem like the reader's right there with you, but not so much that we know where you keep your toothbrush between brushings.
Personal asides - Funny, silly, crazy, unbelievable things happen on vacation. The best reports share these stories.
Some degree of language mastery - If it's hard to read, most people just won't read it. Punctuation and paragraphs are your friends! You don't have to be an English scholar, but easy to read is good, and sometimes... less is more.
Difference - when you do something that most people haven't done before or go someplace a little uncharted or any of those "off-the-beaten-path" experiences, please tell us! (Even if it's in... like... Kansas or someplace! )
And most important, PICTURES! - I prefer shots used to illustrate the writing around them or, if not, that have some sort of caption that explains them. And you know we all love pictures so the more, the better! ('Cept those blurry ones that no one can decipher or 29 different versions of the same shot or ones we have to stand on our heads to see or or or...)
Finally, just do it! Even if you're not a great writer, post the pictures and SHOW us your trip. Or if you don't have fantastic pictures, let us live your vacation vicariously through your words and descriptions and put in the best of the pictures you do have. Everyone will appreciate the effort, whatever you can pull off!

So, even if it's not of Playa, if you did it and it was fun and you've got pictures, share!

You captured it very well. Maybe try to keep it balance between thos if possible. The one thing I might add, is some basic info about the writer at the beginning. Helps the reader get orientated

I love a trip report with lots of photos, for sure. I also like a report with lots of pertinent information. I think one mistake that many people do is to start out too detailed, describing everything from taxi ride to the airport, check-in, flight etc, and then running out of steam when it's time to write about the actual stay in Playa, which to be honest, is way more interesting then the trip there...

I love pictures with captions before them- so I know what the picture is of, who's in it, where it's at? If it's at a peep meet, I like to put faces with names of the peeps in the pictures.

yep, somewhere a long time ago we had a thread and I officially agreed that it was a good idea, I just haven't made it yet... we have one at Tulum.info
