Breakout at the Fire Station

Enlarged buildings are bursting forth in a blaze of activity at the Fire Station.

A well deserved improvement for the followers of the flame.

It looks like PDC has better fire trucks than our town does. All of those toursit dollars are coming in handy.

To my knowledge, the fire trucks we have were donated from the same amazing US fire brigade and their supporters that make possible the Firefighter's Academy each year.

last year when we were in PDC. It was amazing.

My understanding was that there is no tax funding for the Bomberos, they are all volunteers and all equipment is donated. Paid or not, though, those guys and all of the firefighters that come from the US to provide continuing professional education for them, are treasures.

I'm so glad that they are able to improve the facility.

This is a bit off the subject of the new firehouse, but it looks great in comparison to the old firehouse...hooray! I was in the lovely village of Playa Del Carmen walking near the pier....met a fireman...failed to give a donation...came home...found out the volunteer fire department sells very cool t-shirts. Would anyone know how to contact the appropriate person with the PDC FD to either donate or purchase a t-shirt? Thanks much!
