Allow myself to introduce...myself.
Hello everyone!
I have been to Cancun many times and as far back as 86. Like a fine wine, I reached an age of reasoning...and I have kids...and I lack the desire to party like a rock star for 7 days on vacation. So....I am planning a big shindig family vacation to PDC.
Stumbled across this site during my research.
I look forward to learning from this forum.

Where did you stay? I am going to book GPR. It looked like the best bang for the buck and kid friendly. Most of all, we liked the fact that we could just stroll into PDC on the sandal shuttle.

it was awesome!! How old are your kids? We stayed at Shangri-La, it's not an AI and it's on the northern end of town, far enough away to be low key and quiet, but close enough to walk to all the action.

The munchkins are 3-12. My littlest is just like yours...a princess. Ahhh, can't wait to get there. We are staying for 2 weeks!

Yeah, looks like we both waited till we were a bit older for the little ones. You are staying for 2 weeks? I hate you! Actually.. a week is not enough especially with the travel. Yes, mine is a princess and half minnesotan!

Staying at Porto for reasons mentioned previously. Glad to hear she is part "Minee-sooo-tan"!

Yah. Been on many vacations for a week and it just was not enough time. A 1 week vacation is really only 2 days. Here is how I came up with that........

- 2 days of travel = a 5 day vacation.
- 1 day to get settled in and to know where things and places are = 4 day vacation
- 1 day to get over being sick from something you ate or drank = 3 day vacation
- 1 day to buy all the souvineers, last minuted "to do's" and get packed = 2 day vacation

Well keep us posted on how it is.. Porto seems perfect for a bigger group. Let me know how the beach access works out. That was one of the big pluses for S-L, the beach!
