pen clicking, gum chewing, etc....

Am I the only person on the planet who can't concentrate when others around me click their pens, drum on the countertop, swing their feet, etc.? I feel like I can only concentrate on one thing at a time. Are there any of you out there that feel the same way? What is my diagnosis?

I HATE when people slide their knife along their plate while eating....or chew loud...I can't even eat when they do that.

So are we just supposed to get over these things? Because loud chewing/gum snapping/tapping just makes my blood pressure rise and my heart beat harder.

Your diagnosis is that you are completely normal. For me it is the sounds that people make when they are eating or drinking. If I can eat in complete silence, so can you. Drives me NUTS!

Has anyone else noticed that this place is like free therapy??

But I'm serious. Do any of you have the affliction where when anyone around you is tapping or clicking, you can't concentrate?

I suggest Rescue Remedy. It's all natural and takes the edge off when you feel like slapping people.

I also don't like loud chewing, gum snapping, and the word "ointment."

Gum snapping drives me crazy! Also people who talk to themselves. At work I had a woman in the cube next to me that would talk to herself all day. She'd say something that she thought was funny, then she'd laugh. She laughed a lot, and very loudly too. If I knew her socially I'm sure the it wouldn't have bothered me, but at work it was excruciating. Thanks goodness she is gone now.

Ah yes...the gum snapping!! arrghh!

The lady in the cublicle next to me sings, hums, and whistles throughout the day. And when she is not doing that, she sucks in her spit. I'm sure she thinks she is being quiet...but we all can hear her. She drives me insane! Especially when I'm trying to create a post here on Playa.Info and I lose my train of thought!

AMEN! HATE IT!! Saw a sign on a jitney bus in Nassau in the Bahamas that people snapping gum will be put off the bus.

For me it's loud eaters . . . plate clinkers, food crunchers, etc. I have 3 brothers-in-law and they all eat with too much volume. Knives and forks clinking on plates and bowls, slurping, crunching, teeth sucking. It drives me crazy.

I can handle a kid snapping their gum for a minute or two, but when an adult does it, I just wanna' smack that gum out of their mouth!

I work in a groupicle and I know I am annoying as hell. I am a naturally cheerful, yappy person..... I can't help it, I just cannot keep quiet.

Yesterday I was humming christmas music for some reason and I didn't have a clue I was even doing it - finally someone yelled at me to STFU. That is a daily occurrence.

(In my defense, since I quit smoking I have been far worse than normal, because of the Zyban, it makes you a little hyper.

)

Luckily, all 8 of us get along quite well and we can tell each other to shut up and no one feels bad.

To all of you who are easily annoyed by we annoying people- I am truly sorry.

Sorry that you are so freakin' uptight that is.
