I was just thinking that March Madness & college hoops are in comparison to the road to the Frozen Four & college hockey kinda like Cancun in comparison to Playa: the former gets all the crazy attraction and crowds and all that, but we figure that's all for the best, so those of us who understand can focus on some real competition out there on the ice...

And it ain't like the teams you're talking about aren't in it! (Though the Badgers only by the skin of their badger teeth.)

WHAT??? Big 10 champs, Big 10 tourney champs, blew away Kansas St. and they are only in by the skin of their Badger teeth?

Or is this just a perspective of a former Kansan with sour grapes?

Don't worry Steve, if we make it past Davidson I'm sure the other Kansas will end our season

That's a bet if there is a third time..lets say a bottle of Gran Centenario Anejo.....maybe the refs will allow a "little" contact..otherwise I'll root for the Badgers

The last time UW met MSU in the Final Four, my friend was a professor at Mich. St. So as payment for losing the bet I had to be photographed on the Union Terrace in Madison wearing an MSU shirt.

Luckily he has moved on to Texas Tech who didn't make it in this year, despite beating Texas. I sure don't want to drive to Lubbock just to buy a shirt

Hockey, my friend, hockey. That's what I was talking about. They finished 6th in their division of 10 and are the only sub-500 team in the final 16. Yet they get to host DU, a #2 seed and winner of 2/3 of their games plus the division tournament, in the first round. Go figure.

But hockey. Yes.

Steve,
I realized that shortly after posting the message, but left it up since there is no time NOT to brag about my Badgers.

To my embarasment I was not even aware that the Hockey team was in the tourney. This after years of having only the hockey and cross-country teams worth bragging about

It was a great night on State Street back in the late 70's when the Badger hockey team won the NCAA only to be overshadowed a couple days later when that little Jesuit college in Milwaukee did the same in basketball.

Heh, heh. Which of the DU back-to-back national champion videos would you prefer to see?

(If you really want to see a nice, and more recent, hockey highlight video, get yourself over to my Frozen Four 2008 thread and check out the game-winning goal where we knocked UND out of the division tournament. Just don't mention that to KirbyFan!)

Not bad Jamey.. not bad at all!!! I am currently in first in mine, helped by the fact that I picked Siena, WKU and Davidson, in fact Davidson to win 2 games and the pool adds seed value... Let's see how I finish, but I could at least bask in the glory for the last 4 days.. who do you have winning it?

I still have 10 of the 16 left on my brackets. Duke did me no favors tho. I won $232 on the football pool in January so I am probably due to lose this one, but I am still in the running. Makes the games way more fun to watch.

I hesitate to even post here because I'll probably jinx myself. I am currently sitting alone at number 2 in my pool out of 103 people. I still have my final 8 intact. Hopefully today will go well. But, I went out on a limb and picked Louisville to get past UNC, so tomorrow will be the true test for my bracket.

My final four - Louisville, Texas, Kansas, UCLA
Final two - Louisville and UCLA
Champion - UCLA
