hello from NY

Hello from NY! My hubby and I are headed down to the Royal PDC beginning of May. Looking forward to a mix of a relaxing time and adventure! We'll be there 7 days/7 nights, but what really will be 5 full days w/travel.
I'm looking for the best snorkeling day trip (half day) in the area.
I've winded down my choices for excersions to:
Xel-ha
Akumal (snorkeling)
Cozumel (for snorkeling only)
And not sure what ruins to do that will not eat up our whole day!
Any suggestions, are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

We are live in Astoria, Queens and our dates are May 3-10th.
Will there be any cinco de mayo celebrations you think? I know its not a big holiday there in the whole country, like it is here!

Lots of New Yorkers going down in May. We live in Manhattan. Will be down May 20-27 staying at La Tortuga. Our first trip down and really looking forward to it.

We were there last cinco! They don't celebrate it as we do in the states! I was disappointed when I found out but we had a blast reguardless!!
