Iberostar Tucan & Snorkling?

Hi,

We've booked the Iberostar Tucan from 15th september till 2nd october. I love snorkling and while reading the web, it seems that playa is not the place to be

First of all, I would like to know if the waves are not to high to snorkle in september and secondly, are the rumours true? Does playa really suck in terms of snorkling grounds?

Regards,

B.

Hi
Sorry have not got the answers to your question! Just to say I too will be at the tucan on those same dates! I am also interested in snorkelling. I am not brave enough to go diving yet
I hear there is great snorkelling at cozumel and also at the marine parks.
I know someone will correct me if i am talking rubbish.
Hope we have a great time!
Only 5 weeks to go and counting!!

snorkeling near I*

We were at the Iberostar a couple of years ago and I didn't find any decent snorkeling from the beach. We walked a distance south and it was better near some of the rocks, but still so-so.
I'd say your best bet would be to go over to Cozumel and visit Chakanaab. It was way better than Xel-ha, I think.

Snorkeling @ Tucan

Bivium,
You can also book day trips at the resort which will take you snorkeling all day. We have been on the same trip twice and it was great, they take you to 3 different locations with lunch included. It includes snorkeling through a cenote and a fresh water lagoon. You also get to snorkel where the salt water meets the fresh water.

Re: Iberostar Tucan & Snorkling?

[best place for snokling straight from the beach is aroun akumal and playa paraiso - in cozumel there are no snorkling places in front any hotel. : check www.travelyucatan.com/div-3.htm
