Especially not on a girls' weekend. But I may make an exception for the Playa board ...

Thanks for all the info on RPRM - some friends of ours are going next month. It looks beautiful!

Thanks so much PlayaDreaming!
All these tips are fantastic, I think its these little things that can really turn a mediocre vacation into something that will be talked about for a lifetime. Has anyone ever thought of posting a tips page or thread for people to add to???? Its especially useful for first timers like ourselves that have absolutely no clue about what to expect or better yet what is expected from an all inclusive resort. Thanks again for all the little tips and tricks. And my wife thinks I'M OCD TOO! But I'm sure she'll be thanking me loads when we get down there and all these little thing make our vacation the BOMB! Again thanks a million!

Thanks! I have gotten so much good advice from playa info, I'm just trying to share the little I know.
Now that we are getting close to our vacation, it is getting very hard to be productive at work. However, in no way do I blame this website or the beach cam (which is open on my desktop most of the day)

here now!

We got here yesterday, and are having a great time. Just a couple of updates.
They have key cards to the room, not room keys. (DonŽt know if I was just confused with Riu Vallarta or if this is new.)
The beach is actually in better shape (at least today) than last May. However there are large black whales out front.

Since IŽve been here, IŽve been taking advantage of the internet access in the Sports Bar. It is $3 for 15 minutes or $8 for an hour with an access code that you can use at any time. There is wireless access in the lobby for those carrying laptops because I see several people at any time during the day in the lobby on their laptops. DonŽt know about wireless access to rooms, but will try to remember to ask.

Going to Coba tomorrow. They say this will be the last year you will be able to climb the steps....weŽll see.

The resort is great. The grounds are beautiful, and they prune, clean and basically keep everything immaculate. As a guest of the Riu Palace, you have access to all the Riu resorts in the area. There are five or so in the Playacar compound, and you also have access to the Riu resorts in Cancun (we've never been into Cancun, though.)

If you've never stayed at a Riu hotel, go to their website, riu.com , and get a riu class card. Print this out and take it with you for discounts on services at the hotel like spa, internet etc. Also get the hotel's email address, and email a week or so in advance with any special requests.

There is also a lot of info available on the Riu resort through :: Index - .

Happy Anniversary everyone.. today is our 13th.. wish we were still in playa..

Aaron & Cheryl
