Ok, I've narrowed it down: Riu Tequila or Reef Club

So, I'm torn.

It's an easy walk downtown from Reef Club . . . it also has king sized beds and a tub.

Riu has a minibar in the room, which was nice for keeping water cold. 2 beds pushed together is their king, and no tub.

Comments? Has anyone stayed at both? We liked Riu last year. It's about $180 more (for both of us) than Reef Club, which is not a big deal. But, that would buy us quite a few meals downtown, which we could walk to instead of paying cab fare.

Yes, we eat out even though we are at an all-inclusive. When we do an Apple Vacations charter at the last minute, it costs less than airfare and hotel downtown would! We figure we get the best of both worlds this way . . . free drinks and food when we want it, but not tied to the resort.

I look forward to your feedback, again. And thanks for the comments!

I would go with Riu Tequila because you can use the Yucatan and Playcar

3 for the price of 1

Wendy,

Thanks for your input. We found we didn't use the other Riu locations (other than the beach) because they were all the same - same food, same drinks, etc. So for us, this would not be a good reason.

I think we're going to go with the Reef Club - it's $100 cheaper per person, which will provide lots of extra spending money when we walk into town!

 Why would you want other people to help you decide where you want to spend your vacation ?

Because I personally haven't been to the Reef Club and am looking for comparisons.

Don't you read reviews of the places you go to? This is no different. I am asking for opinions on two resorts.

I guess what I'd ask you is, why WOULDN'T you want other people to help you decide where you want to spend your vacation? Isn't that what travel writers, travel agents, friends and family, The Travel Channel, spouses, books, magazines, etc. do all the time? Help you decide where to vacation?

However, since you are posting anonymously, I'll just assume you are a troll trying to stir up trouble!

Hi!

Just wondering if you have gone yet? Have you posted a trip report? Would love to hear about it and any tips. We are going next April.

Thanks

Nope. We actually ended up deciding to stay at the Iberstar Tucan, though. We leave Sunday.
