I don't think that the Brits have a corner on healthy eating themselves, they did invent scones and pourage.

oh and back to the original issue......LA obviously isnt "mking it legal". However it is a ridiculous idea and wasted a lot of time debating this issue. It was another shot for Cardenas to get some attention. It was so stupid....but right now theres a lot of that going around the LA ciity council

Well either you're making fun of my spelling or you just don't edit your writing. Either way I'm glad that there's someone here that spells almost as bad as I do.

Hey I never knew that the making of homicide a criminal action was a debateble action, but in L.A. I guess that's par for the course.

no theres something wrong with my vowel keys... they keep either not showing up or showing en masse...its driving me nuts....I did edit out all the extras for you in this post

The whole thing in LA is not a matter of legalizing murder..its basically almost a polisci experiment....if we can go 40 hrs why not 40 days.....Of course it iis ridiculous because it does sound like iits okay after the 40 hours....the fact the the city council actually wasted time on it is absurd.....but it gave Cardenas coverage(even it was for being an idiot) Whenever I've met him he gives me the feeling that I Ishould take a very hot shower with bleach.....
Most of the council did think it was a silly idea and that we should focus instead on why we have this problem. Essentially now what it is a time of thought on why murder and viiolence are so prevalent in our society. it is set to begin at, I believe 6:01 pm tonight and go until 8:01 am monday in conjuntion wiith the 40th anniversary of MLK jrs death(hence the 40 hours).

There is a lot of discord withiin the council riight now surrounding gang issues and of course the outrageous deficit.....Many more important things happening that should be taking precedance...such as layoff, withdrawl of city cars, expected raises that were pulled unless you are union. villarigosa has created a nightmare in LA.

I don't think it's that nobody cares about LA... I think it was just trying to figure out what Stogey meant by "legaling murder" which of course the city council was NOT doing... and since whatever it was they were trying to do was determined to be ineffectual and isn't going to happen anyway, it's all kind of a moot issue....

well it is kind of happening just under different terms...its not so much a ban on it as it is an awareness. Yes its silly.. sorry ive gotten a bit sidetrcked by all the other issues too. LA county board of supervisors did approve the moratoriium though. it will be in effect for the same time period

How does one enforce such a moratorium? I mean, if a murder is committed during that timeframe, isn't it still the same murder? Punishable by applicable laws? I didn't read anything about that part, if that's what they mean by a moratorium...?

you cant enforce it any differently....like i said iits more of a poli sci experiment.
which iis part of my the council changed the termonology.
what got to me is with the way LA is right now, wiith all the fiiscal problems and battles wthin the council is why it they even took the time for a debate on this....

maybe most of you dont know but the city is having major layoffs because the estimated deficit of $300 milliion and growing

Weeeellll...it's close! The USA is number one, the UK is number two, and Canada is not far behind at #3- the world's three fattest nations.
