As one who usually stresses about EVERYTHING, I feel really good right now, pretty stress free.
I usually stress the most about my kids, always worrying about them. But... my oldest is in college now doing really well (made the deans list), and pursuing something he feels passionate about (this after a few years of not knowing what he wanted). My youngest son is doing well in school, made the Varisty baseball team and is really happy about that. Hubby and I are doing great after 25 years... things are good. It feels good to feel good and not have to worry for once. Anyone here a cronic worrier? It's a terrible thing. Now I pray I haven't spoken too soon. |

Glad you are feeling good! I have to say that I never worry. Probably almost to a fault!?! My mother was and still is a chronic worrier at 80. My father was not. I take after him. I also am happily childless so I think that helps the worry factor. If I had 7 kids like my parents did, as a mom, I probably would have been a worrier!! |

You know we could choose to stress about things in our lives that pull us down or we can choose to not worry about things we have no control over...
I have few bad crap things on the go...One of my adult sons mates tested HIV ..my son has not.. so far...Lost my best friend and a bro in law a short time ago..Makes me sad this stuff but..I choose to not worry and instead think about positive good in my life..I am blessed ![]() Roni says it best.... enjoy the present ![]() I have 4 children..Their mates and then the grandkids..no regrets..(never mind the step family ).Love them all..thankful for each one of them ..... but they will not give me gray hair...![]() ![]() Fav song ![]() YouTube - Bob Marley - Three little birds Last edited by catnhat; 04-02-2008 at 10:04 PM. |

That's great news for you Mercy! But...can we really force ourselves to change? I, like you, am a chronic worrier. It is silly really to worry over things you have no control over. I know this. Logically. I can't tell you how many New Year's resolutions I've made for myself to live in the moment, to enjoy life more, to worry less. I am married to a non-worrier, and I wish I could be more like him. I worry about my kids, my mom, other family members, work...the list goes on. I worry, then I stress, then I feel angry. I don't like this about myself, but it feels like part of my being.
To those of you who have achieved "worry-free" status, please give me some pointers on how to retrain myself to be more happy-go-lucky...and just plain relaxed and happy. |

Eileen, I find my faith helps me the most when it comes to worry. When I find myself "going there", I just stop, pray and know that God is in control, and good or bad all things happen according to His plan. |
