Blazing new look for the fire station!

A new look home for Playa's bravest.

All pumped up and ready for no calls I hope.
In this job no news is good news.

Looks like that truck up there is in for a flying start!

Seriously: it looks really nice, but I can't compare it with anything... you wouldn't have a "before" picture, would you?

Well waddaya know: despite the bomberos being mentioned here quite often, it never occurred to me that they might have their own website...

Thanks for pointing that out, David!

On the older photo it looks..... well... different.

They built the new one on top of the old one.

Well good for them. My Bomberos T shirt is one of my most prized purchases on this trip!

Chief Brian

Hola, thanks for your support. Our new fire house is almost perfect. All we need is a stop light in front of the base to take two more minutes off our arrival time to the central of Playa. Im sure the new mayor will install this STOP LIGHT. This is the first time I have gotten on this web site since 1995. My wife and I would just liket o say thanks for your continued support. We are very proud of of Firemen they are some of the best trained in Mexico.

Hey that new station really looks nice. We were there on March 23 and they really have done alot since then.
I also proudly wear my new Bomberos T-shirt.
Be safe.

Do they sell them at the fire station? I am a firefighter and will be down in Riviera Maya area starting Friday. I would like to get one.

Hi ya Chief. You guys are doing a great job. I bet is has been a bit of a "roe to hoe." Oh well.
Question (if you don't mind): It yours a "Volunteer" Fire Rescue Department, or are the Firefighters and staff on salary?

There is a stand down by the ferry dock during the day and at night there is a table on 5th avenue between Calles 6 and 8, in front of the Burger King.
It is $20 for the T-shirt and there is a boot for donations. Being a firefighter I made a good donation to the boot after I bought my t-shirt.
