It is sad that small independent book sellers are being pushed out by the mega big box book stores.

Fortunately, for me, I am within a 20 minute drive to book lovers paradise. If ever you find yourself in Portland Oregon a visit to Powell's Books - Powell's Books on Burnside is a MUST.

I rarely buy new books. I borrow a lot of books from the library or buy used books at the nearest Goodwill store but I make a trip to Powells every couple of months and buy books that have too long a wait at the library or that I haven't found at the Goodwill.
