Trevor Linden

Many of you may not know who this is....He is a class act. In my opinion the best all round player (on & off the ice) to ever play the game of hockey. Yes I am biased being born & raised (and will die) a Vancouver Canucks fan. This man is a legend. I watched him get drafted & have been his fan ever since!

#16 Trevor Linden-The game of hockey will miss him! Here's hoping he comes back in a coaching position!

For all hockey fans:

Don't know about his stick skills, but he sure makes a mean chocolate bar!

He hasn't retired from that, has he? That would be a shame.

Great guy, such a gentleman. Hockey will miss him indeed. That brought tears to my eyes, waching how the Blades who had already gone to the dressing came back out to shake his hand. For a sport that has a reputation for being violent, I think hockey players actually have great character.
He looks so young to be retiring!
Did you notice when he walked off the ice the first time, walking right under the Viagra ad.

Brought a tear to my eye too.......I hate the Flames but have to say that was classy of them. Trevor has been heavily involved in the players union for years as well.
I didn't notice the ad.....too funny.
Linden has a house here & Igilna just bought one the other day.....for 7.2 million $'s!

PS Daddy B you lost me.

I don't know nothing about hockey or this here Trevor Linden fellow, but

I have spent a little time with tommygurl and her hubby. She could not have done much better than Nick, I don't think. She has also said she likes Kathy and I, but other than that the me part I trust her judgment without reservations (up to a half pint or so of rum, then it might be anybody's guess)

Trevor Linden is a huge supporter of Canuck Place...A hospice for children with terminal illnesses.

What a great tribute to one of the greatest "active" NHL players! Gave me goosebumps. Trevor is a class act in much the same way as is Joe Sakic. Thanks for posting that video.

Go Avs!

I too am a die hard Canucks fan, although it was a little difficult staying on the wagon this year. I do have a new found respect for Iginla after his classy display on Saturday night. As for Trevor, what can I say. The man is one of the best ambassadors the game has ever had. His leadership and work ethic on the ice and his involvment in the community are unmatched.

I don't really know much about Trevor Linden, other than the fact the he was once President of the player's union (may even still be the president for all I know), but I have no doubt that he's just as the posters on here advertise.

This video is just one more example of the amount of class that NHL players generally have. They spend all their time beating the living daylights out of each other, but at the end of the game they show the utmost respect for each other.

The Stanley Cup playoffs start this week, and it is my favorite part of a hockey season, because the intensity level and hatred for the opponent increases substantially. Yet, what do you see at the end of each bitterly-fought playoff series? More handshakes for and respect shown to the opponent such as what is shown in this video.

I saw Trevor at the Vancouver Airport last week down by the car rentals, I'm 5'9" he's at least 6'4", huge friggin dude. Thing I noticed with him usually hockey players in person look beaten to hell after 5-7 years of pucks, sticks, and fists to the face, he still looks close to age. He will be missed, too bad his name isn't on the Cup, it should be. '94 was ours dammit!!!!!!!!!

And that is not only the pro hockey players.

I will see guys I know, including my husband, play rec hockey and get seriously rough with the other team on the ice, even fight (not at his age now, though!)- then line up to shake hands with the other team and go drink beer with them after.

Most boys still live and breathe hockey here, I think it and other team sports teaches them a lot of valuable life lessons, for sure.

Duly noted, with the exception of some of the youth hockey players. We, as coaches, battled the whole respect thing all year long in the handshake line after each game with some of our 13-14 year old players. Some of the mothers would be appalled at the things that come out of their young "angel's" mouths.

It can be shocking can't it? In my experience the parents are worse than the kids.....At 5 years old they are convinced thier little Bobby is the next Crosby......
